Quick and easy snack, High protein.
Short on time ? Planning your kids snack for camp or for school? This high protein snack is staple in my house. It’s easy, quick and requires no cooking or baking.
It has seeds such as hemp, flax, sesame, chia which are loaded with omega 3 fats (the good ones as they are anti-inflammatory) and protein. Nut butter helps hold it all together and adds to the protein content. Medjool dates provides the sweetness along with fiber.

They last in the fridge for a couple of weeks but trust me they will not last as long. A quick snack that is filling, easy to make and cheaper than buying energy bars.
Hope you give them a try!
Now let’s get to the recipe…
Prep time: 5 minutes Fridge time: 15-20 minutes
Serves: 10 – 12 balls
Ingredients
- 1 cup nut or seed butter – I prefer almond or sunflower but any nut butter will do. Ensure there is no added sugar in the butter.
- 3 – 4 pitted medjool dates
- ⅔ cups hemp seeds
- ¼ cup chia seeds
- ¼ cup sesame or flax seeds
- 2 Tbsp goji berries
- 3 – 4 Tbsp of protein powder (optional)
- 3 – 4 Tbsp shredded unsweetened coconut (optional)
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients in a food processor and blend them for 10 – 20 seconds. Start at a low setting and move up to 3.
- Add more nut butter if it’s too dry or more seeds if too soft. We want it to be soft and chewy.
- Put some coconut oil in your hands and make small balls with the mixture
- Line them up on a tray and put them in the refrigerator to firm up for 15 – 30 minutes.
- Store them in the fridge and enjoy them on the go or as snacks for kids.
Tag me @_divgupta when you make them so I can follow along as well 🙂
